Professional firms frequently describe themselves in identical terms: trusted, leading, client-focused. The words are unobjectionable and completely interchangeable, which means they communicate nothing.
Specificity is a more effective differentiator than intensity. Stating precisely which situations the firm handles well, which types of organisation it works with, and what the engagement actually involves gives a prospective client something to evaluate.
The same applies to evidence. A described engagement — the situation, the approach, the outcome — is more persuasive than a percentage nobody can verify. Where verified references are available they carry weight; where they are not, describing the work honestly still communicates capability.
It also helps to say what the firm does not do. Declining to claim capabilities outside a genuine scope builds more confidence than a comprehensive-sounding list, and prevents mismatched engagements that serve nobody.
Positioning built this way is harder to write and considerably harder to copy.
